At the end of Day 1, Carl articulated 4 key themes: learning should be fun; the revolution will be televised – only on a mobile device; mobile learning is now the norm; learning should be based on inquiry and interest.

Though comfortable shoes ranked at the top of Jen’s list, she also made an excellent point: Educators around the world are passionate, innovative, and inspiring.
ISTE Wrap Up, Day 2
Carl spent the second day in poster sessions and at the blogger’s cafe where he met up with members of his PLN – Michelle Cordy (@cordym), Holly Clark (@HollyEdTechDiva), and Don Orth (@finddonorth).
ISTE 2013 Overall Wrap-up: Turning Reflection into Action
To maximize the value of a conference, Carl suggests four strategies for codifying learning – especially since school is now out for summer. Dispatch.IO can be used to support asynchronous conversation, while G+ Hangouts can be used for real-time conversation. To “bend time and space” in order to curate the experience, Carl also recommends a combination of Twitter and Storify.
