With iPads and other mobile devices increasingly becoming the device of choice for 1:1 programs, school districts and classroom teachers no longer have to rely on expensive, and often outdated, paper-based texts to provide course content to their students. Educators now have the ability to create and curate their own custom content that can be published and distributed to students online and then directly to their mobile device.
In this hands-on, intensive, two day workshop, participants will explore advanced topics in classroom iPad integration. The workshop will include an exploration of advanced curation, creation and organization using iPads. Participants will also explore the use of iPad specific Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize and manage an iPad classroom as well as the creation of student portfolios. Advanced workflow strategies will be covered as well multi-app combination scenarios to create multimedia content. Participants will be given hands-on time to explore, practice and refine their skills in the workshop. Advanced iPad classroom scenarios will also be explored with an eye towards solving unique problems that arise in an iPad classroom.
Who Should Attend: Participants who have previously attended an EdTechTeacher iPad Classroom summer workshop or iPad Summit Pre-Conference Workshop, teachers and administrators who are proficient with personal iPad usage, as well as classroom teachers in a 1:1 or iPad cart setting.
EdTechTeacher does not provide iPads for the workshop. Please bring your own device. We strongly recommend that you update all apps before attending the workshop. A list of recommended apps will be emailed to you in advance of the workshop. We also recommend that you bring a laptop computer with wireless capability. WiFi will be available.
