Creating authentic, meaningful and engaging learning experiences is the foundation of a student centered participatory classroom. This one week summer workshop will explore and unpack what it means to design an authentic learning experience that supports student agency, voice and creativity. The role that technology can play in connecting classrooms, creating content and empowering student expression will be explored as a means to create truly authentic experiences. Through a combination of research based practice, an exploration of the role of technology and strategies to design, facilitate and assess authentic learning experiences, workshop participants will develop an understanding, capacity and confidence to redesign and implement authentic student centered projects.
How It Works:
- One-week courses will consist of 3 one-hour webinars on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (except the week of July 6th which is Tues., Wed., Thur.) and three asynchronous activities for $95
- Two-week courses will consist of 6 one-hour webinars (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) and six asynchronous activities for $159
- Attendees will receive a certificate.
