In addition to this annotated list of apps and ideas, EdTechTeacher’s Greg Kulowiec and Beth Holland have recently completed a new type of resource for teachers looking to integrate iPads into the their curricula. Check out The iPad As… for a list of their favorite apps organized by learning goal. They will continue to also maintain the Diigo Group as well as build on this new list. Learning Without Boundaries The Virginia Department of Education helped to create this list of apps for students. You can download them from the Apple App Store. Some of them include digital texts from Pearson publishers. Topics include negative numbers, absolute value, and order of operations. Tags: app, middle school, math, iPad, education Scribble Press Scribble Press (Free) is a book creation platform that allows students to both write and illustrate their own stories. Final products can be downloaded to iBooks or ordered as a hard copy. Tags: iPad, writing, app, english, history I Education Apps Review – iBooks This is a great review of a standard app – iBooks. It also includes a link to a great podcast about alternate ways to integrate iBooks into the classroom Tags: iPad, apps, education, ebooks, iBooks Murky Reef Lite – 1st – 2nd Grade Reading, Science & Math Designed for 1st-2nd grade students, Murky Reef combines reading and math skills in the context of exploring a coral reef. This is the free version, though there is a more robust version available for $3.99. Students can review numbers, sight words, and vocabulary. There is some reporting built in.
